Hot Chocolate on a Stick

Hot Chocolate on a Stick is an original and fun way to enjoy a delicious hot drink. It’s essentially a block of chocolate on a stick that you melt in hot milk to get a thick and tasty hot chocolate. Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients

  • 200 g of good quality chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 100 g of milk chocolate
  • 50 g of cocoa powder
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • Silicone molds for chocolate or popsicles
  • Wooden sticks (like those for popsicles)
  • Optional: hazelnut sprinkles, mini marshmallows, caramel bits, or spices like cinnamon or chili

Preparation

  1. Start by chopping the dark and milk chocolate. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, stirring until you have a smooth and uniform mass.

  2. Remove the chocolate from the double boiler and let it cool down a bit. Add the sifted cocoa powder and powdered sugar, mixing well to prevent lumps.

  3. Arrange the silicone molds on a tray and pour the mixture inside, filling them 3/4 of the way. If you want to add an extra touch, sprinkle the surface with hazelnut sprinkles, mini marshmallows, caramel bits, or a pinch of your favorite spice.

  4. Insert a wooden stick into each mold, making sure to position it well in the center. Let the chocolate solidify completely by placing the molds in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours.

  5. Once the chocolate is well solidified, remove the hot chocolate sticks from the molds.

To enjoy your Hot Chocolate on a Stick, heat a cup of milk and dip the stick into the hot milk, stirring until the chocolate has completely melted, creating a sweet and enveloping drink.

Curiosity

This way of serving hot chocolate has become popular thanks to its practicality and the touch of creativity it allows. You can customize the sticks with different types of chocolate or additions, and they also make a great homemade gift during the holidays.
