Homemade Red Mini Pizzas from the Oven
17/11/2023Here is a simple and tasty recipe to make red mini pizzas from the oven at home:
Ingredients
- 500 g of type 00 flour
- 250 ml of lukewarm water
- 7 g of dry yeast (or 15 g of fresh yeast)
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- As needed tomato sauce
- As needed oregano
- Diced mozzarella or as needed grated cheese
- As needed salt
- As needed extra virgin olive oil for dressing
Preparation
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the lukewarm water and let it rest for about 5 minutes, until foam starts to form on the surface.
- In another bowl, mix the flour with the salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast and extra virgin olive oil.
- Start mixing with a spoon, then transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead with your hands until smooth and elastic, for about 10 minutes.
- Put the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic film and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume, which should take about 1-2 hours.
- Once the dough has risen, take it and divide it into small balls the size you desire for the mini pizzas.
- Roll out each ball on a floured surface until you get discs about 0.5 cm thick.
- Arrange them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each one.
- Spread a spoonful of tomato sauce on each disc, leaving a free edge all around.
- Season each mini pizza with a pinch of salt, oregano, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
- Scatter the diced mozzarella or grated cheese over the tomato sauce.
- Let the dressed mini pizzas rise for another 15-20 minutes while you preheat the oven to 220 °C.
- Bake the mini pizzas for about 10-15 minutes or until they are golden and the cheese is well melted.
- Take the mini pizzas out of the oven and serve them hot.
