Grilled Swordfish

Grilled swordfish is a simple and delicious dish that brings out the bold flavor and meaty texture of the fish. Here is a basic recipe:

Ingredients

  • 4 swordfish steaks, about 200 g each
  • Extra virgin olive oil as needed
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper as needed
  • Garlic powder or 1 clove of fresh garlic (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for serving)

Preparation

  1. First of all, make sure the swordfish steaks are fresh and of even thickness to ensure even cooking.

  2. Rinse the swordfish under cold running water and pat dry with kitchen paper.

  3. Prepare a marinade by mixing oil, lemon juice, garlic (if desired), salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

  4. Marinate the swordfish steaks in the mixture for 15-30 minutes, turning them once.

  5. Preheat the grill to a medium-high temperature and lightly grease the grill with some oil to prevent the fish from sticking.

  6. Gently place the fish on the hot grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until it shows the typical grill marks and the edges begin to caramelize.

  7. During cooking, you can brush the fish with the remaining marinade to add flavor and moisture.

  8. Once cooked, remove the fish from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.

  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon slices on the side.

Grilled swordfish is excellent when served with a simple green salad or grilled vegetables. Remember that the swordfish steaks should not be too thin to prevent them from drying out during cooking. Enjoy your meal!
