Grilled Swordfish
17/11/2023Grilled swordfish is a simple and delicious dish that brings out the bold flavor and meaty texture of the fish. Here is a basic recipe:
Ingredients
- 4 swordfish steaks, about 200 g each
- Extra virgin olive oil as needed
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper as needed
- Garlic powder or 1 clove of fresh garlic (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon slices (for serving)
Preparation
-
First of all, make sure the swordfish steaks are fresh and of even thickness to ensure even cooking.
-
Rinse the swordfish under cold running water and pat dry with kitchen paper.
-
Prepare a marinade by mixing oil, lemon juice, garlic (if desired), salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
-
Marinate the swordfish steaks in the mixture for 15-30 minutes, turning them once.
-
Preheat the grill to a medium-high temperature and lightly grease the grill with some oil to prevent the fish from sticking.
-
Gently place the fish on the hot grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until it shows the typical grill marks and the edges begin to caramelize.
-
During cooking, you can brush the fish with the remaining marinade to add flavor and moisture.
-
Once cooked, remove the fish from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
-
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon slices on the side.
Grilled swordfish is excellent when served with a simple green salad or grilled vegetables. Remember that the swordfish steaks should not be too thin to prevent them from drying out during cooking. Enjoy your meal!
