Grilled Prawns
17/11/2023Grilled prawns are a delicious and relatively simple dish to prepare, perfect for a summer meal or as a refined second course. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
- 8 generously sized fresh prawns
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Fresh parsley to taste
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Preparation
- Start by cleaning the prawns. Make an incision along the back and remove the intestinal tract. Gently wash the prawns under cold running water and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
- In a small bowl, prepare a marinade with extra virgin olive oil, finely chopped garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix the ingredients well.
- Immerse the prawns in the marinade and let them marinate for about 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan. Once hot, place the prawns on it, cooking for about 2-3 minutes per side, depending on their size. During cooking, you can baste them with the remaining marinade to keep the prawns moist and aromatic.
- Once the prawns turn a bright pink color and the flesh is opaque, they are ready.
- After cooking, arrange the prawns on a serving dish and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Curiosity
Prawns are a highly valued ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine for their flavorful and firm flesh. In Italy, they are often grilled to maintain and enhance their natural flavor. Remember not to overcook them to avoid becoming too dry and losing their natural juiciness.
Enjoy your meal!
