Greedy Kisses

Greedy Kisses are delicious little treats that may remind you of the famous Baci Perugina. Here is a recipe to make them at home, in a handcrafted style.

Ingredients

  • 200 g of dark chocolate
  • 150 g of roasted hazelnuts
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • 50 g of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 20 whole roasted hazelnuts
  • Dark chocolate to taste for coating

Preparation

  1. Finely chop 150 g of roasted hazelnuts. You can use a mixer or a food processor to achieve a texture almost similar to hazelnut flour.

  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped hazelnuts with powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder.

  3. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, being careful not to overheat it. Add the melted chocolate and soft butter to the mixture of hazelnuts and mix until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.

  4. Take some of the mixture and form balls the size of a walnut, inserting a whole hazelnut inside each ball. Arrange the balls on a tray lined with parchment paper and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour, so that they solidify.

  5. Meanwhile, melt more dark chocolate. Once the balls have solidified, dip them one by one in the melted chocolate to create the outer coating.

  6. Put the Greedy Kisses back in the fridge until the coating has hardened.

  7. Serve them at room temperature to best appreciate their taste.

Curiosity

Despite the similarities in names and flavors, Greedy Kisses are a homemade variant and can be customized as you please. By adding a pinch of liquor, such as rum or amaretto, you can give the filling an even more aromatic note. Moreover, they can be an excellent gift idea if packaged in an elegant box with a bow.
