Ingredients

  • 320 g of fusilli
  • 200 g of canned tuna in oil
  • 400 g of peeled tomatoes or the same amount of tomato puree
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh parsley to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fusilli until al dente.
  2. Meanwhile, in a pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil and sauté the garlic cloves until they turn golden. Remove the garlic when it’s golden.
  3. Add the peeled tomatoes to the pan and crush them slightly with a wooden spoon. Let cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
  4. Drain the oil from the tuna and add it to the pan with the tomato sauce. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the tuna too much.
  5. Drain the fusilli al dente and add them to the pan with the sauce and tuna. Toss together for a couple of minutes to let the flavors blend well.
  6. Serve the fusilli with a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley and, if you like, a pinch of black pepper.
