Fusilli with Tuna and Tomato
17/11/2023Here is a simple recipe to prepare delicious Fusilli with Tuna and Tomato, a classic Italian dish that is quick to make and very tasty.
Ingredients
- 320 g of fusilli
- 200 g of canned tuna in oil
- 400 g of peeled tomatoes or the same amount of tomato puree
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Fresh parsley to taste
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fusilli until al dente.
- Meanwhile, in a pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil and sauté the garlic cloves until they turn golden. Remove the garlic when it’s golden.
- Add the peeled tomatoes to the pan and crush them slightly with a wooden spoon. Let cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Drain the oil from the tuna and add it to the pan with the tomato sauce. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the tuna too much.
- Drain the fusilli al dente and add them to the pan with the sauce and tuna. Toss together for a couple of minutes to let the flavors blend well.
- Serve the fusilli with a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley and, if you like, a pinch of black pepper.
