Fruit Popsicles

Fruit popsicles are a delicious and refreshing idea for the summer, simple to prepare and perfect for a light dessert or a snack. Here’s how to make them.

Ingredients

  • Fresh fruit of choice (for example strawberries, raspberries, bananas, kiwis, peaches, etc.)
  • Fruit juice (like orange, apple, or another juice that pairs well with the chosen fruit)
  • Sweetener of choice (sugar, honey, maple syrup, stevia, etc.), if necessary
  • Water, if needed to dilute
  • Popsicle sticks

Preparation

  1. Clean and cut the fruit into small pieces or slices, depending on your preferences and the size of the ice cream molds you have.
  2. If you want a chunky effect, distribute the cut fruit into the popsicle molds. If you prefer a creamier texture, blend the fruit with a dash of fruit juice until smooth.
  3. Taste the mix and, if necessary, add your preferred sweetener. The amount depends on the natural sweetness of the fruit you’ve used and your personal taste.
  4. If you’ve chosen the chunky version, now pour the fruit juice into the molds until the fruit is covered.
  5. Insert the popsicle sticks into the molds. If you are using the fruit puree, pour the mixture into the molds and then insert the sticks.
  6. Place the molds in the freezer and let everything solidify for at least 4-6 hours or until the popsicles are completely frozen.
  7. To unmold the popsicles, you can briefly run the molds under warm water. Then gently pull the sticks to remove the ice creams.

Trivia

Fruit popsicles are a tasty but healthy alternative to traditional industrial ice creams. Fruit provides vitamins and minerals and, if consumed without overdoing the sugar, these popsicles are perfect for a nutritious summer break. Moreover, it’s a fun way to get more fruit into your diet, especially for children.
