Frittata Roll-Up
17/11/2023The frittata roll-up is a versatile and tasty dish, great both as an appetizer and as a main course. It can be filled with various ingredients, according to personal taste and what you have available. Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Choice of aromatic herbs (e.g. parsley, basil), chopped
- 150 g of cream cheese (like Philadelphia)
- 100 g of cooked ham slices
- 50 g of arugula (or baby spinach)
Preparation
- Start by beating the eggs in a bowl, add salt, pepper, and the chopped herbs. Mix until you have a homogeneous mixture.
- Heat a lightly oiled or buttered non-stick pan and pour in the beaten eggs. Cook over medium heat, trying to obtain a frittata that is not too thick and has golden edges. Make sure to cook it on both sides.
- Once ready, transfer the frittata to a plate and let it cool down for a few minutes.
- Spread the cream cheese evenly over the surface of the frittata.
- Lay the slices of cooked ham on top of the cheese, then add a layer of arugula or baby spinach.
- Using parchment paper, start rolling the frittata tightly on itself, forming the roll-up.
- Wrap the roll in the parchment paper and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour, this will allow the roll to become firm.
- After the resting time, gently unroll the roll from the parchment paper and cut the roll into slices about 1-2 cm thick.
- Arrange the roll-ups on a serving plate and serve.
