Fried Squid and Shrimp

Absolutely, fried squid and shrimp is a beloved seafood dish, crispy and delicious. Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients

  • 500 g of cleaned squid cut into rings
  • 500 g of peeled and deveined shrimp
  • Flour as needed
  • Salt as needed
  • Pepper as needed
  • Seed oil for frying

Preparation

  1. Thoroughly clean the squid and shrimp, ensuring to remove any sand residue or insides.

  2. Dry well with kitchen paper to remove excess moisture.

  3. Heat plenty of seed oil in a deep pan or fryer until it reaches a temperature of about 180 °C.

  4. In the meantime, flour the squid rings and shrimp, making sure to shake off the excess flour to avoid dirtying the oil too much.

  5. Fry in hot oil in small batches to not lower the oil’s temperature, then cook for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.

  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the squid and shrimp from the oil and transfer them onto a plate lined with kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.

  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste while still hot.

Serve the fried squid and shrimp immediately, accompanied by lemon wedges and, if desired, tartar sauce or mayonnaise for dipping. It’s ideal as a starter or main course in a seafood dinner. Enjoy your meal!
