Fried Chicken Breast
17/11/2023Here’s a recipe to prepare fried chicken breast in a simple and tasty style:
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts (about 400-500g total)
- 100g of flour
- 2 eggs
- 100g of breadcrumbs
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying (for example, sunflower or peanut oil)
Preparation
- Start by cleaning the chicken breasts, removing any bone or cartilage remnants, and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
- Lightly beat them with a meat tenderizer to flatten them evenly; this will help them to cook more quickly and evenly.
- In a wide bowl, place the flour and season it with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt.
- Finally, place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Coat each chicken breast in the flour, making sure to cover it entirely. Then dip it into the beaten eggs and, lastly, into the breadcrumbs, ensuring that it adheres well for an even coating.
- In a wide and deep frying pan, heat a generous amount of vegetable oil to a temperature of about 170-180°C.
- Fry the breaded chicken breasts until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
- Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil and serve hot.
Fun Fact
Fried chicken is a dish enjoyed in many cuisines of the world, with many regional variations. In Italy, for example, for a more local touch, you could add chopped aromatic herbs to the eggs, such as rosemary or thyme, or a pinch of grated cheese like Parmesan to the breadcrumbs, for an even tastier breading. And for a lighter alternative, instead of frying, you could bake the breaded chicken in the oven at 200°C until golden, to reduce the use of oil.
