Fresh Tuna Pasta

Fresh tuna pasta is a simple and delicious dish that blends the seafood flavors of tuna with the freshness of tomato. Here is how to prepare it:

Ingredients

  • 350 g of pasta of your choice, such as spaghetti or penne
  • 300 g of fresh tuna
  • 250 g of cherry tomatoes or Pachino tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • A bunch of fresh parsley
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Dry white wine (optional)
  • Lemon juice (for marinating the tuna, optional)
  • Chili pepper (optional)

Preparation

  1. Cut the tuna into cubes and, if you wish, marinate it for a few minutes in lemon juice.

  2. In a large pan, heat a stream of extra virgin olive oil and add the garlic, letting it brown to flavor the oil. If you are using chili pepper, add it finely chopped.

  3. Add the fresh tuna and cook over high heat for one or two minutes. If you like, deglaze with a splash of white wine.

  4. Cut the tomatoes in half and add them to the pan with the tuna, cooking for a few minutes until they start to release their juice.

  5. Season with salt and pepper lightly.

  6. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a pot of boiling salted water until the desired doneness.

  7. Drain the pasta al dente and transfer it to the pan with the tuna and tomatoes.

  8. Mix everything together adding the chopped parsley until the sauce is well combined with the pasta.

Serve the pasta hot, with a sprinkle of fresh pepper and a raw drizzle of extra virgin olive oil for an extra touch of flavor. This dish is ideal for a light yet nutritious and flavorful lunch or dinner.
