Fish Meatballs

Fish meatballs are a tasty and versatile dish that can be customized with different types of fish and herbs according to your tastes. Here is a general recipe that you can follow to make delicious Italian-style fish meatballs.

Ingredients

  • 500 g of white fish fillets (such as cod or hake), cleaned and skinless
  • 1 clove of garlic finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 50 g of breadcrumbs, plus more for breading
  • Olive oil for frying

Preparation

  1. Start by finely chopping the fish fillets. You can do this by hand or use a food processor, making sure to obtain a mixture not too fine.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the minced fish with the garlic, egg, parsley, and salt and pepper to your taste.
  3. Add breadcrumbs to the mixture, starting with a couple of tablespoons and increasing the amount if necessary to obtain a moldable dough.
  4. Form small balls with the mixture, roll them in extra breadcrumbs to coat evenly, and slightly flatten them to give them the shape of meatballs.
  5. Heat plenty of olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, fry the meatballs in batches until they are golden and crispy on both sides.
  6. Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve the fish meatballs with a sauce of your liking, such as tartar sauce or a yogurt and chive sauce.
