Curiosity
Fig pizza is not exactly a traditional Italian recipe; however, the combination of figs and ham represents a classic Italian appetizer. Figs have a long history in Italy, having been one of the first fruits cultivated even before the founding of Rome. Their sweetness pairs perfectly with the salty flavor of the ham and the creaminess of the mozzarella, creating a contrast of flavors that has become very popular in gourmet pizzerias.
