Farfalle with Ham, Peas, and Cream

Farfalle with Ham, Peas, and Cream are a simple and creamy dish, with a great balance of flavors. Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 350 g of farfalle or other short pasta of your choice
  • 150 g of cooked ham, cut into strips or cubes
  • 200 g of frozen or fresh peas
  • 200 ml of cooking cream
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • grated Parmesan cheese, to serve

Preparation

  1. In a large frying pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until it becomes translucent.

  2. Add the cooked ham and let it brown for a few minutes.

  3. Add the peas to the pan and cook until they are tender.

  4. Pour in the cream and let it warm up on low heat. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.

  5. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the farfalle according to the package instructions until al dente.

  6. Drain the pasta, reserving some of the cooking water.

  7. Combine the pasta in the pan with the ham and pea sauce, adding a little cooking water if the sauce thickens too much.

  8. Stir everything over low heat for a minute, until the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce.

Serve the farfalle hot, with a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top. This dish is perfect for a quick dinner during the week or as a comforting one-plate meal. Enjoy your meal!
