Egg-Free Biscuits

Here’s a recipe for egg-free biscuits that you can easily prepare at home:

Ingredients

  • 200 g of flour
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 80 g of butter at room temperature
  • 50 ml of milk (or a plant-based beverage if you prefer a dairy-free version)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Flavoring of choice (vanilla, lemon zest, almond, etc.)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. In a bowl, mix the soft butter with the sugar until you obtain a smooth and creamy mixture.
  3. Add the milk and the chosen flavoring and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and pinch of salt. Then, incorporate these dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Knead until a compact dough is formed.
  5. If the dough is too sticky, add a little flour; if instead it’s too dry, add a little milk.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface with a rolling pin until it’s about half a centimeter thick.
  7. Use cookie cutters to shape the biscuits and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake the biscuits for about 10-12 minutes until they are slightly golden.
  9. Let the biscuits cool on a wire rack before serving.
