Creamy Dark Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 200 g of good quality dark chocolate
  • 150 g of butter
  • 100 g of granulated sugar
  • 50 g of flour
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 packet of vanillin or a teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt in a double boiler along with the butter, taking care not to overheat the mixture. You can also melt it in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until it is completely melted.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the granulated sugar and a pinch of salt. Work them until you have a fluffy and frothy mixture.
  4. Add the vanillin (or vanilla extract) to the egg and sugar mixture.
  5. Gently incorporate the melted chocolate and butter into the egg mixture, mixing from bottom to top to avoid deflating it.
  6. Finally, sift the flour over the mixture and fold it in gently to preserve the air in the mixture and ensure the creaminess of the cake.
  7. Pour the batter into a buttered and floured cake tin or lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake the cake for about 20-25 minutes (the center should remain slightly moist for that characteristic creamy consistency).
  9. Let the cake cool before unmolding it.
