Whipped Cream Donut

Ingredients

  • 250 ml of fresh whipping cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 300 g of sugar
  • 1 packet of vanillin or the seeds of a vanilla pod
  • 500 g of type 00 flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Icing sugar (for decoration)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and butter and flour a donut mold.
  2. In a bowl, whip the eggs with the sugar until you get a light and fluffy mixture.
  3. Add the fresh cream and continue to mix until perfectly blended.
  4. Incorporate the vanillin or vanilla seeds into the mixture.
  5. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and pinch of salt.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the egg and cream mixture, mixing gently from the bottom up to prevent the mixture from deflating.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared mold and level the surface.
  8. Bake the donut for about 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Take the donut out of the oven and let it cool in the mold for about 10 minutes, then transfer it onto a rack and let it cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, dust the donut with icing sugar before serving.
