Dessert with Cream and Ricotta with Coffee

Preparing a dessert with cream and ricotta with coffee is a delicious way to end a meal. Here is a simple recipe you can try.

Ingredients

  • 250 g of fresh ricotta
  • 200 ml of fresh cream to whip
  • 2-3 tablespoons of powdered sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 small cup of strong and cold espresso coffee
  • Cocoa powder for decoration
  • Dry biscuits (like ladyfingers) or hazelnut grains (optional to add crunchiness)

Preparation

  1. Put the ricotta in a fine-mesh strainer, and let it drain to eliminate the excess whey, for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Afterwards, transfer the ricotta to a bowl and work it with a spatula or a spoon until it becomes creamy.
  3. In another bowl, whip the fresh cream with the powdered sugar until it has a firm and fluffy consistency.
  4. Take the cold espresso coffee and gently fold it into the ricotta, mixing with movements from the bottom upwards to not dismantle the mixture.
  5. Carefully incorporate the whipped cream as well, until the mixture is homogeneous.
  6. If you like to add a crunchy note, you can crumble some dry biscuits or hazelnut grains and mix them into the compound.
  7. Distribute the mixture into glasses or individual cups, and then refrigerate to set for at least one hour before serving.
  8. Before serving, dust with a bit of cocoa powder for decoration. If desired, you can also add chocolate-covered coffee beans or a mint leaf for a touch of freshness.
