Coffee Popsicles

Coffee popsicles are a simple and refreshing treat, perfect for the summer or as an energizing dessert. Here’s how to make them with an Italian twist:

Ingredients

  • 250 ml of cold espresso coffee
  • 100 ml of condensed milk
  • 30 ml of coffee liqueur (optional, for a grown-up version)
  • A handful of coffee beans (optional, to add crunchiness)

Preparation

  1. Prepare the espresso coffee and let it cool completely.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cold coffee with the condensed milk until you get a smooth mixture. If you want an alcoholic version, also add the coffee liqueur.
  3. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion during freezing.
  4. If you want to add a crunchy touch, insert some coffee beans into each mold.
  5. Insert popsicle sticks and transfer the molds to the freezer.
  6. Freeze the popsicles for at least 4-5 hours, or until they are completely solid.

To easily remove the popsicles from the molds, briefly run them under warm water.

Curiosity

Coffee is a beloved beverage in Italy, and the addition of condensed milk is a nod to the classic “caffè leccese,” typical of Salento, where coffee is added to almond milk. Coffee popsicles with condensed milk combine Italian tradition with the concept of summer freshness.
