Coconut Balls

Coconut balls are simple and delicious treats, perfect for an after-dinner dessert or as a sweet snack. Here’s how to make them:

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of dried grated coconut
  • 200 grams of condensed milk
  • Optional: chocolate chips, cocoa powder, or powdered sugar for decoration

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, mix the grated coconut with the condensed milk until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Take small portions of the mixture and form balls with your hands. If the mixture is too sticky, you can slightly wet your hands to make shaping easier.
  3. At this point, you can roll the balls in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or chocolate chips, depending on your taste.
  4. Place the balls on a tray lined with parchment paper and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

After resting in the refrigerator, your coconut balls will be ready to enjoy!

Curiosity

Coconut balls are also known in some countries as “Raffaello”, similar to the famous coconut-based chocolates. However, while the commercial Raffaello chocolates contain an almond in the center and are coated with a thin wafer, homemade coconut balls are usually simpler and without these additional elements. They are beloved in many parts of the world for their sweet taste and their soft and rewarding texture.
