Chocolate Delight Cookies
17/11/2023I will give you a simple recipe to make chocolate delight cookies.
Ingredients
- 250 g of all-purpose flour
- 150 g of granulated sugar
- 100 g of butter at room temperature
- 1 large egg
- 1 yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder for sweets
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 150 g of chocolate chips or coarsely chopped chocolate
- (Optional) Bitter cocoa powder, 30g for a more “chocolatey” dough
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, cream the soft butter with the sugar using an electric mixer or a spatula until you have a creamy mixture.
- Add the egg and yolk to the butter and sugar mixture, then add the vanilla extract and continue to mix until the ingredients are well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing with a spatula or by hand until a homogeneous dough is formed. If you want more chocolate flavor, add the cocoa powder at this step.
- Incorporate the chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) into the dough and distribute them evenly.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Form balls with the cooled dough, flatten them slightly and place them on the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Bake the cookies for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling.

The history of chocolate cookies is relatively recent, compared to the long tradition of cookies in general. Chocolate started being used in cookies in the 20th century, after chocolate itself became more accessible to the general public. Since then, chocolate cookies have become a favorite treat in many parts of the world.
