Chocolate Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 150 g of all-purpose flour
  • 30 g of cocoa powder
  • 100 g of granulated sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • 2 large eggs
  • 120 ml of whole milk
  • 80 ml of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 100 g of dark chocolate (possibly high-quality Italian)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the liquid ones and mix until the batter is smooth.
  5. Chop the dark chocolate and add it to the batter, folding it in gently.
  6. Fill the paper cups 2/3 full, placed in a muffin tin.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

If you wish, you can decorate your cupcakes with chocolate ganache or chocolate buttercream to make them even more tempting. For an all-Italian touch, you might add some chopped hazelnuts or almonds to the batter or the decoration for a crunchiness and flavor that recall the Italian confectionery tradition. Happy baking!
