Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

  • 115g of soft butter
  • 220g of brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 190g of all-purpose flour
  • 30g of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200g of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In the bowl of a mixer, cream together the soft butter with the brown sugar until the mixture is even and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and continue to mix until they are well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a consistent dough is formed.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips into the dough.
  7. Using an ice cream scoop or two spoons, place balls of dough on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
