Ingredients
- 200 g of good quality dark chocolate
- 250 ml of fresh cream to whip
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar (optional)
- Fresh fruit for garnish, such as strawberries or raspberries (optional)
- Chocolate flakes or cocoa powder for decoration (optional)
Preparation
- Start by breaking the dark chocolate into pieces and melting it in a double boiler or microwave, being careful not to burn it.
- Take some individual cups and pour the melted chocolate on the bottom and sides, creating an even layer. Place the cups in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes or until the chocolate has solidified.
- In the meantime, whip the fresh cream until it is frothy and firm. If desired, add powdered sugar to sweeten it slightly.
- Remove the cups from the fridge once the chocolate has cooled and solidified, and fill each cup with the whipped cream.
- Garnish the dessert with fresh fruit, chocolate flakes, or a dusting of cocoa powder.
- Place the cups back in the refrigerator until serving time to keep the whipped cream fresh and firm.
Remember that if you want an Italian twist, you might add a bit of liqueur to the whipped cream, such as Grand Marnier or Disaronno, to give an extra aromatic touch to the dessert.
