Chicken Ramen

Here is a basic recipe for preparing Chicken Ramen with an Italian twist.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 liter of chicken broth
  • 200g of ramen (noodles)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger (about 5 cm)
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • Vegetables to taste (e.g. carrots, mushrooms, cabbage)
  • 2 eggs (optional)
  • Fresh green onion for garnish
  • Chili pepper (optional for a spicy touch)

Preparation

  1. Prepare the chicken broth. If you do not have it ready, you can slowly cook a chicken breast in water with onion, carrot, celery, and some spices of your choice for about 1 hour.
  2. Cook the chicken breasts in a small pan with a little oil until they are golden and cooked to the right point. Then let them cool and slice them into thin slices.
  3. In a large pan, lightly sauté the minced garlic, onion, and ginger in the sesame oil.
  4. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Add the soy sauce and any vegetables you want. Let it cook until the vegetables are tender.
  6. In a separate pot, cook the ramen following the package instructions, drain well and set aside.
  7. If you want to add a hard-boiled egg, cook it for 6-7 minutes in boiling water, then cool it down in cold water, peel it and cut it in half.
  8. Assemble the dish by placing the noodles at the bottom of a large bowl, then pour the hot broth with vegetables over it.
  9. Add the slices of cooked chicken and the hard-boiled egg (if used). Garnish with chopped fresh green onion and a drizzle of sesame oil.
  10. Serve immediately, hot and steaming.
