Chicken Burger

Ingredients
- 500g of ground chicken breast
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove of finely chopped garlic (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- A pinch of Italian aromatic herbs, such as oregano or basil
- Extra virgin olive oil for cooking
Preparation
- In a bowl, combine the ground chicken breast, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic (if using), salt, pepper, and aromatic herbs.
- Mix all the ingredients with your hands until the mixture is uniform.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions, generally 4 or 5, depending on the desired size.
- Shape into flat patties trying to maintain an even thickness, as this will help with even cooking.
- Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- When the oil is hot, cook the chicken burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are well browned and cooked through in the center.
- Drain them on paper towels to remove excess fat before serving.
You can serve the chicken burgers on buns with salad, tomatoes, slices of mozzarella for an all-Italian twist, and dress with a little mayonnaise, ketchup, or basil sauce.
