Chicken bites with curry and paprika

Chicken bites with curry and paprika are a simple and tasty dish that skillfully combines the tradition of Indian spices and a Hungarian spicy touch. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 500 g of chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika (optional for an extra touch)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 200 ml of cooking cream (or plant-based alternative for a lighter option)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Preparation

  1. Start by cutting the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces of uniform size to ensure even cooking.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chicken bites with curry, sweet and smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Also add the lemon juice and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, finely chop the garlic and onion.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion until translucent.
  5. Add the marinated chicken bites to the pan and brown until they are golden on all sides.
  6. Lower the heat, cover with a lid, and let cook for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked, add the cream and mix well. Let cook for a further 5 minutes or until the sauce has reached a creamy consistency.
  8. Taste and, if necessary, adjust the salt and pepper.
  9. Serve the curry and paprika chicken bites hot, garnished with the chopped fresh parsley.

Curiosity

Curry is not actually a single spice, but a blend of many spices that can vary greatly in flavor and spiciness depending on the region of origin and the specific ingredients used in its preparation. Moreover, smoked paprika gives the dish a distinctive fragrance that recalls distant environments and traditions, bringing a touch of international flair to your kitchen with simplicity.

Buon appetito!
