Chestnut and Pear Muffins
17/11/2023Chestnut and pear muffins are a delightful combination of autumnal and winter flavors, perfect for a hearty snack or breakfast. Here is how to make them:
Ingredients
- 200 g of chestnut flour
- 100 g of all-purpose flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 80 ml of seed oil or melted butter
- 1 ripe pear
- 2 eggs
- 120 ml of milk
- 1 packet of baking powder for sweets
- A pinch of salt
- Vanilla essence to taste (optional)
- Icing sugar for decorating (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a muffin tin with liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flours, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, seed oil or melted butter, and vanilla essence.
- Peel and cut the pear into small pieces (if you prefer a more intense pear flavor, you can also grate it).
- Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients mix and stir until you have a homogeneous mixture. Add the pear pieces and gently mix.
- Fill the muffin cups 2/3 with the batter.
- Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the muffins are well risen and golden. Use the toothpick test to make sure they are cooked in the center.
- Let the muffins cool before removing them from the tins.
- Once cooled, you can dust them with icing sugar for a more elegant presentation.
