Cauliflower Cutlets

Cauliflower cutlets are a great way to enjoy this vegetable in a crispy and tasty version. Here is a recipe to prepare them:

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of flour
  • 150 g of breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg to taste (optional)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or extra virgin olive oil)

Preparation

  1. Divide the cauliflower into medium-sized florets and steam or boil in salted water until tender but still firm.

  2. Once cooked, let the florets cool down.

  3. In the meantime, prepare three separate containers: one with the flour, one with the beaten eggs seasoned with salt, pepper, and, if you like, a pinch of nutmeg, and the last one with the breadcrumbs.

  4. Coat each cauliflower floret in the flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the breadcrumbs, making sure the breading sticks well.

  5. Heat plenty of oil in a pan and fry the breaded florets until they turn golden on all sides.

  6. Drain them on paper towels to remove any excess oil.

Serve the cauliflower cutlets hot and crispy on their own or with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as tzatziki, mayonnaise, or ketchup. These cutlets can be a delicious main course or an original appetizer. Enjoy your meal!
