Milk Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 200 g of milk chocolate
- 150 g of soft butter
- 150 g of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 g of flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- (Optional) vanilla extract or grated zest of one orange for flavoring
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Melt the milk chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, being careful not to burn it. Let it cool down slightly.
- In a bowl, cream the soft butter with the sugar until you obtain a smooth and fluffy mixture.
- Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to mix.
- Incorporate the melted chocolate into the butter, sugar, and egg mix.
- Add a pinch of salt and, if desired, vanilla extract or orange zest.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and gradually fold it into the mix, mixing gently to prevent lumps.
- Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured cake tin, or one lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, but check for doneness by inserting a skewer into the center of the cake: if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
- Let the cake cool before unmolding. You can dust it with powdered sugar or decorate it with whipped cream dollops for a more decadent effect.
