Ingredients

  • 300 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 200 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 100 grams of powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Vanillin or vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, cream the softened butter with the powdered sugar until you achieve a creamy mixture.
  2. Add the egg and vanillin (or vanilla extract) and mix well.
  3. Incorporate the previously sifted flour and a pinch of salt, working the dough until it is uniform.
  4. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 5 mm thick.
  7. Using cookie cutters, cut out the cookies and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
  9. Let the cookies cool on a rack before serving.
