Bresaola Rolls

Bresaola rolls are a fresh, quick, and tasty appetizer, perfect for an aperitif or as the start of a meal. Here is the recipe to prepare them.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of bresaola
  • 100 g of spreadable fresh cheese (such as Philadelphia or robiola)
  • Arugula, a handful
  • 1 lemon (juice, to dress)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Capers or olives (optional, to garnish)

Preparation

  1. Start by washing and drying the arugula well.
  2. In a bowl, mix the spreadable cheese with a little lemon juice, salt, and pepper until you achieve a smooth and seasoned cream to your liking.
  3. Lay out the slices of bresaola and spread some cheese cream on each.
  4. Add a few leaves of arugula on top of the cream.
  5. Roll up the bresaola with gentle firmness to form the rolls.
  6. If you wish, you can add a final touch with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a splash of lemon, and, if liked, capers or a small olive skewered with a toothpick to hold the roll together.

The rolls can be served on a serving plate, perhaps garnished with some fresh arugula in the center for a visually pleasing effect.

Curiosity

Bresaola is a typical salami from Valtellina, a valley located in the Lombard Alps. It is made from dried and aged beef meat, and is known for its delicate flavor and low fat content, making it a preferred choice for light and healthy dishes.
