Kale Chips

Kale chips are a healthy and crunchy snack, making a perfect alternative to traditional fried potato chips. Here is the recipe to make them:

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of kale (about 200 g after cleaning)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Fine salt, to taste
  • Black pepper (optional)
  • Paprika or other spices as desired (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 130 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash the kale leaves well, then dry them thoroughly. Remove the tough parts of the central stem and cut the leaves into pieces, about 5-6 cm each.
  3. In a large bowl, gently massage the kale leaves with olive oil, making sure they are all lightly coated.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and, if you like, a sprinkle of paprika or any other spices of your choice.
  5. Arrange the leaves in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring that they do not overlap to guarantee even cooking.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the chips are crispy. Check after the first 10-15 minutes and, if necessary, turn the leaves over.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving. The chips will become even crispier as they cool down.

Note that cooking times may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the leaves and the oven used. It is important to monitor the chips as they cook to prevent burning.
