Ingredients
- 1 Romanesco broccoli
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- A pinch of chili pepper (optional)
- Breadcrumbs (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C (fan-assisted) or 220 °C (conventional).
- Wash the Romanesco broccoli and cut it into florets, removing the central core.
- Put the florets in a large bowl, add extra virgin olive oil, crushed or minced garlic cloves, a pinch of salt, and black pepper to taste. If you like, you can add a bit of chili pepper for a spicy touch.
- Mix well so that the florets are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
- Arrange the florets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper in a single layer, making sure not to overlap them.
- If you want to add a crunchy note, sprinkle some breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese over the florets.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the Romanesco florets are golden and crispy at the edges.
- Serve hot as a side dish.
