Baked King Prawns

Here is a simple and tasty recipe for making baked king prawns, a dish that brings with it the taste of the sea and can be served either as an appetizer or as a main course.

Ingredients

  • 800 grams of king prawns
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh parsley to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Dry white wine (optional, about 100 ml)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  2. Clean the king prawns by removing the head and shell leaving only the tail. Remove the intestinal black line by making an incision along the back with a small knife.
  3. In a baking dish, arrange the cleaned prawns and slightly open up their flesh.
  4. In a bowl, prepare a marinade with extra virgin olive oil, finely chopped garlic, chopped fresh parsley, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. If you want to add a winey note, also incorporate the white wine.
  5. Pour the marinade over the prawns, ensuring it is well distributed.
  6. Allow the marinated prawns to rest for about 10-15 minutes so that they absorb the flavors.
  7. Bake the prawns for about 10-12 minutes or until they turn a nice pink color and are just golden.
  8. Once ready, remove the prawns from the oven and serve immediately, accompanied by lemon wedges for those who wish to add an additional touch of acidity.
