Baked Pasta with Broccoli and Sausage

Baked pasta with broccoli and sausage is a rich and flavorful dish, perfect for cooler days when you want something comforting. Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients

  • 400g of short pasta (penne, rigatoni, etc.)
  • 300g of sausage
  • 1 medium broccoli
  • 400g of tomato sauce
  • 1 onion
  • 200g of mozzarella
  • 50g of grated parmesan
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water for boiling the pasta

Preparation

  1. Start by cleaning the broccoli: separate the florets from the stem and rinse them under running water. Boil them in salted water for a few minutes so they remain crunchy.

  2. Drain the broccoli and set aside. In the same water, cook the pasta but drain it al dente since it will continue cooking in the oven.

  3. In the meantime, cut the sausage into small pieces or crumble it and brown it in a pan with a drizzle of oil and finely chopped onion until it becomes golden.

  4. Add the tomato sauce to the sausage, salt, pepper, and let cook for about ten minutes.

  5. In a large bowl, mix the pasta with the sausage sauce and broccoli. Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if necessary.

  6. Take an oven dish and lightly grease it with oil. Pour in the pasta, broccoli, and sausage mixture.

  7. Cut the mozzarella into cubes and distribute it evenly over the surface of the pasta.

  8. Sprinkle with grated parmesan and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 20 minutes or until the surface is golden and crispy.

  9. Take out of the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Enjoy your meal!
