Avocado and Chocolate Popsicles

Avocado and chocolate popsicles are a fresh and nutritious treat, great for summer or as a tasty snack with a healthy twist. Here is the recipe to prepare these popsicles.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 150 ml of coconut milk (or almond milk for an alternative)
  • 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (you can adjust the sweetness to your liking)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

For the coating (optional):

  • 100 g of dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Preparation

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the seed and scoop out the pulp with a spoon.
  2. Put the avocado pulp in a blender along with the coconut milk, cocoa powder, honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Blend everything until you have a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  5. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, insert sticks, and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours or until completely solidified.
  6. If you want to add the chocolate coating, melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave with a teaspoon of coconut oil and stir until you have a smooth mixture.
  7. Take the popsicles out of the freezer and quickly dip them into the melted chocolate, then put them back in the freezer for a few minutes to harden the covering.

Curiosity

Avocado, although commonly used in savory dishes, is also excellent in sweet versions. This fruit is rich in healthy fats, fiber, and vitamins, making these popsicles an interesting way to introduce it into children’s diets or to enjoy a dessert that is also nutritious.

Remember that you can always customize the recipe according to your preferences, substituting the honey with another sweetener or using different milk to achieve different textures and flavors.
